Another beer of the day and this one was a delight to drink. Alaskan Breweries IPA, this offering clocks in at 6.2% ABV and an IBU of 55. For those surf fans out there the label is cool, but the fact that a place where you can surf and check out the mountains is even better.
Let’s get to the beer, this offering pours a burnt orange, nice lace from the resiny head on the glass. The aroma is sweet, bready, piny, nice floral hoppy aroma jumping around in that glass.
The taste is actually malty on the palate upfront, caramel, sweet toffee notes, then moves to a bit only those NW hops can provide, very citrusy, great balance and enjoyable to drink. This IPA would be great paired up with some grilled seafood or strong cheeses to stand up to this beer.
