Congratulations to Asheville, NC with their selection as the East Coast site for New Belgium Brewing. New Belgium, out of Fort Collins CO, is famous for their Fat Tire Amber Ale and is the nation’s third largest craft brewer. The new site will take approximately seven years to build at a cost of $175 mil and will be located on an old livestock market. Asheville beat out several other East Coast cities for the new site including craft beer mecca Philadelphia.

While Hooch and Hops is happy for all of our friends down South, several of our writers would have loved for Philly to have been the selection. Oh well. Philly would have given NB great distribution access to the East Coast megalopolis.
Drink Better,
Pat
